FRC Team Krunch in the News!

Team 79, Krunch has been busy lately! They recently visited world famous Winter the Dolphin at the Clearwater Marine Aquariumarium, demonstrating their robot, built from their inspiration from Winter, and how the robotics principles learned by the students were applied.

And one of their team members, Jesse Faylo , a Jr. at East Lake High School, has been named a 2012 Sunshine State Scholars for his outstanding achievements in the field of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). Jesse is one of 80 selected as the state’s “highest-achieving” high school students in STEM, and was honored at an awards luncheon on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012, in Orlando.

The Sunshine State Scholars program started in 1997 to recognize excellence in mathematics and science by students, teachers and schools. The program is a collaboration between the Florida Education Foundation, the Florida Department of Education, the Division of Florida Colleges and the State University System of Florida.
