—> Registration opens August 1
Registration for our Super Seniors Season opens today, Wednesday August 1. We’ve made some great changes to our registration system this year that will allow coaches to pay for multiple teams all at once via credit card in TIMS. We’ve also increased the team registration fee this year to $50 per team. The Jr.FLL Program is growing and enhancing the quality of the offerings that all teams will have available to them. In order to strengthen the Program offerings we needed to implement a one-time registration fee increase. Since the start of the Jr.FLL Program in 2004, there has never been an increase in the team registration fee. Because we are now in a new stage of growth for the Program it is now time to increase the cost minimally per team to participate in the Program. If you have any questions regarding the cost increase please e-mail Dana Chism at email@example.com.
–> SUPER SENIORS℠ Challenge
This year’s challenge is all about getting kids to connect with seniors and learn about how technology has changed during the seniors lifetime. We hope that this not only allows kids to explore the way science, technology, engineering and math affects our daily lives, but also allows them to have a greater appreciation for an older generation.
We have once again worked with LEGO Education to create kits exclusively for Jr.FLL teams. These kits are offered by LEGO Education at an awesome savings of 20% (in the U.S.) for registered teams. See flyer attached for the product offerings this year.
–>Jr.FLL Online Showcase
We are very excited for this, the biggest enhancement to the Jr.FLL program this year. The Jr.FLL Online Showcase is being designed as a way for all teams to be able to participate in an expo regardless of whether or not one is being physically held in their area. Teams will be able to create a profile page telling about their team, their research journey and add pictures to show their poster and model. They will then be able to check out other teams’ pages and award them stickers like “Pen Pals”- to give to a team from a different area and “Super Seniors”- to give to a team who have a model and poster showing they explored the season’s theme. More information coming soon, but the designs are looking AMAZING!!
