FIRST in Florida on the Road!

Joe Mosely with students FIRST teams around Florida were busy this week, showcasing FIRST at places like Florida State University’s FCR-STEM Conference in St. Petersburg, and the massive I/ITSEC 2012 Conference in Orlando, where teams worked in shifts to staff our FIRST booth at the STEM Team 21 bot-cPavlion there.

Many thanks to Admiral Farragut Academy‘s awesome FIRST LEGO League team for their enthusiastic assistance at the FIRST in STEM Education seminar at FCR STEM on Thursday, and to Jackson Middle School, Astronaut High School, Lyman High School, Merritt Island and Cocoa High Schools for showcasing their FTC and FRC teams at I/ITSEC!  Both of these events provided great opportunities to show educators and the business community creative, active, effective and meaningful STEM learning.

All these teams exemplify what FIRST is all about, and FIRST in Florida deeply appreciates all the hard work and GP outreach! Thank you Central Florida STEM Council and Florida State University’s Learning Systems Institute for helping us share FIRST in action with more people!
