Fall game play and training opportunities for all programs at upcoming off-season and training events!
This year, Florida FIRST Robotics Competition off-season event organizers are collaborating to offer teams discounts based on the number of events for which they register. The three events are:
- Mission Mayhem on September 19th, Dillard High School, Ft. Lauderdale
- Panther Prowl at Florida Institute of Technology, Melbourne on October 3 and
- ROBOTICON Tampa Bay at the University of Tampa on October 10 & 11th, with optional one day only participation on October 11
There’s a single registration form here, or click the image at right. It’s $150 to register an FRC team for one event, $125 per event if you register for two and $100 per event if you register for all three. Additional robots are $50, and there’s a one day only option for ROBOTICON for $75. Registration deadline for all three events is September 3, 2015. FRC teams will be contacted by individual event organizers with the appropriate invoice amount for each event for which they register.
FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) and FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams can also enjoy build and scrimmage opportunities, and workshops at ROBOTICON, and there will be a Jr. FIRST LEGO League (Jr. FLL) mini-Expo. R.O.B.O.T. League FTC Teams may participate in ROBOTICON at no cost, in appreciation for field use and volunteer support. It’s $25 for teams outside of the local FTC league to enjoy build, scrimmage, workshops and training opportunities. Register here or click the image at left.
Organizers are also considering a Florida FRC Off-Season Champion Award, determined via a point system, for teams that compete in all three off-season events, that would be awarded at ROBOTICON, the last of the three events. Organizers will announce if the statewide award is a go, after they see what registration looks like at the end of the summer.
These events provide great opportunities for some hands on experience for rookie teams and team members, refreshers and training for veteran members, and opportunities to see FIRST in action for interested students, teachers, schools, and potential coaches and mentors.
So save the dates, and join in the fun! Go Teams!
